After a brave struggle with neuroendocrine cancer, Linda, beloved wife of John, passed away, at the age of 66, at the Bethell Hospice, Inglewood on Friday, November 27, 2015 surrounded by family (John, Evan, Shamim, Maureen, Kevin) and best friend Denise. She will be sadly missed. Linda, a previous Orangeville Town Clerk, completed her Masters of Public Administration in 2001. She was also the first female CAO of Dufferin County, an achievement of which we were very proud. Linda is survived by; her husband John, son Evan (Shamim), daughter Heather (Bill), grandchildren Eden and Alec, mother Maureen, sisters Mary (Bill) and Cindy (Chris), uncles Kevin and Tom, and numerous cousins. We also wish to thank her friends, previous co-workers, and healthcare workers for their devoted care during this time.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at St. John's Church (Highway 9 east of Orangeville), 3907 Hwy 9, Caledon, Ontario on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to CNETS Canada, 1608 Blakely Drive, Cornwall, ON K6J 5P4
or Bethell Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Linda in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
