I am sorry this is so late, but nevertheless sincere condolences come your way for the loss of your Dad and Granddad & Brother Arthur Stanly McNeil.
As the only sister of Art's Mom, Margaret Lillian McNeil(Wilcox) I have known Art since he was just a baby. The third and youngest of Margaret's 3 children who lost their mother at such an early time in their life. Margaret was only 25 when she passed away in 1942. When Margaret first passed on, Fern, John and Art came to live with us on the farm, & then later to the house on William St., It was at William Street where they were re-united with their Dad (Ed) when he took up with Annie and her 2 sons. In conversations with Art he told me the happiest time in his life was when he came to lived with his Grandma & Grandpa on the farm. I am glad that he had some good memories from those days. I am sure if I get searching through my old photos I should be able to come up with a couple of photos of Art when he was little, I hope so.
Please know that no matter how things were for the family, Art's Grandma & Grandpa, myself and my late hubby often went up to Ted & Annie's taking along some care packages. It is just in later years that we lost contact, although I was please that several years ago Art & I connected for a while, but sadly later lost touch again. I had more contact with Fern than the boys, Fern and I were in contact by phone & letters right up to when she passed on. I miss your Aunt Fern, a great deal, she was my last connection with my sister, but now I am happy to have a connection with Derek, and if anyone else would like to contact me please feel free to do so at jinnybug@shaw.ca Love from Great Aunt June in British Columbia
